Alexa, still confused, complied. Their strangely kind kidnapper untied them both. The two girls followed the woman upstairs and they sat down at the table. The woman came back with plates full of what looked to be wonderful food. There were two extra place settings at the table. The woman laid five plates on the table, two for the girls, one for the woman and two in the empty place settings. Not too long after all the plates were set down, two other girls came in from a different room and sat down at the table. This seemed very strange. Everything seemed so normal but yet everything was so wrong. It seemed like any other night at any other house.
“Hi, I’m Monet,” the stranger on the right said, “and this is my sister Emelina.”
They didn’t look like sisters. Emelina’s nose was much less pointy and didn’t stretch as far as Monet’s. They also had different eye colours. Monet had blue eyes and Emelina had brown eyes. Emelina was much more slim than Monet. Heck, Alexa seemed to look more like Emelina’s sister than Monet did.
“Pleased to meat you,” Alexa replied, “I’m Alexa and this is… Sandra,” the name seemed to linger on her lips. “I only wish we could have met in a better situation.”
Emelina didn’t speak though she seemed content with the current situation.
Alexa was thinking back to earlier that day. If stupid Sylvia hadn’t given that stupid note to stupid, STUPID Sandra, this never would have stupid happened. Stupid me for stupid going on a stupid walk. Stupid mom for not stupid stopping me. Stupid repetitive thoughts. Stupid…
“Something wrong, Alexa?” Monet asked.
Yes, everything’s wrong! Alexa felt like screaming. But instead, she let out a quiet, “No,” coughed and spoke in her normal voice again. “No, I’m fine. I’m just… thinking.”
